I have have been drawing ever since I was in elementary school.   My early drawings were mostly of flowers and wildlife.

Drawings were done using a #2 graphite school pencil.  My  first choice of medium is Prisma color pencils.  I fell in love with Prisma's because of their ability to lay down and blend together and create a wide range of color arrangement.

Other media such as watercolor, acylics, and oil painting come naturally for me.  Ienjoy color and graphite pencil the most!    When I saw the unbelievable works done in colored pencils by other artists, she just had to give them a try.  Using colored pencil helps me pay attention to the finer details of art.  Also to achieve a multitude of colors from layering.

Although a self-taught artist,  I spent  time studying the works, techniques, and styles of other artists by reading books. One of the best resource books that is basic and simple to understand is - Lee Hammond's big book of Drawing by Lee Hammond. This book is still a valuable asset in my private collection, and I still will read it from time to time.  The book in particular has provided me with the basic foundation to develop my own unique style.

I has been  married to Kevin M. Shibley I for 23 years.  We have three children.  Kevin II, Julie, and Christian.  My family and her I attend the Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church in Winchester, VA.  We presently reside in the state of West Virginia.
